1. What is audience segmentation in cmercury?
Audience segmentation in cmercury allows you to create targeted audience groups based on specific conditions such as engagement history, subscription details, and custom attributes. This helps improve email personalization, engagement, and overall campaign performance.
2. How can I create a new segment?
You can create a new segment in two ways:
- During Campaign Creation – Go to the Campaigns module, click “Create New Campaign,” and select “Create Segment” on the Audience Selection page.
- From My Segments – Navigate to the Subscribers module, go to the My Segments tab, and click “Create Segment.”
3. What are the different segmentation conditions available?
You can segment your audience based on the following conditions:
- Send Condition – Users who have/have not received specific emails.
- Open Condition – Users who have/have not opened specific emails.
- Click Condition – Users who have/have not clicked on links in emails.
- Joined Condition – Users based on their subscription date.
- Fields Condition – Users filtered by demographics, preferences, or custom attributes.
4. Can I combine multiple conditions for advanced segmentation?
Yes, you can combine multiple conditions using logical operators:
- AND – Users must meet all specified conditions.
- OR – Users must meet at least one of the specified conditions.
- NOT – Users must not meet a specified condition.
5. How do I filter users based on email engagement?
You can filter users based on:
- Emails they were sent.
- Emails they opened.
- Links they clicked.
You can also refine results using a specific date range or a rolling timeframe (e.g., users who opened an email in the last 30 days).
6. What is the “Joined Condition” in segmentation?
The Joined Condition filters users based on when they subscribed to your list. You can filter users who:
- Joined before, after, or on a specific date.
- Joined within the last X days.

Once you’ve defined your segment:
- Click “Save Segment” to finalize it.
